The Night Agent Bumps Ginny & Georgia Off Netflix's All-Time Top 10 List

Ginny & Georgia left Netflix's top ten list of all-time most popular English-language shows to make room for The Night Agent.

As IndieWire reports, The Night Agent has been viewed for a total of 515.57 million hours in its first three weeks of release. This locks in the new show to the ninth spot, bumping the former number 9, limited drama series Inventing Anna (511.92 million hours), to the final position and ousting mother/daughter comedy-drama Ginny & Georgia.

After getting off to the third-best Netflix start after Addams Family spinoff Wednesday and docudrama Dahmer, The Night Agent is now in hot pursuit of the first season of The Witcher, which sits one spot ahead of it on the chart with 541.01 million hours. Netflix cuts off tallies for the list after four weeks of a show's availability, so The Night Agent still has one week to bolster its success. It has earned 130.48 million hours in its third week alone.

Stranger Things Reigns Supreme

The fourth season of Stranger Things still sits comfortably at the top of Netflix's list with over 1.3 billion hours, followed by Wednesday (1.2 billion) and Dahmer (856,270,000). Beyond these successes, the streaming platform also maintains separate lists for English-language and non-English content. The all-time best slot internationally still belongs to South Korea's worldwide surprise hit Squid Game, which clocked in 1.65 billion hours of viewing when it premiered in the fall of 2021.

The tremendous success of Squid Game is an exception in Netflix's international programming, though. While the company has many well-performing shows from non-English markets, including Korean high-school zombie drama All of Us Are Dead and French crime adventure Lupin, the second place on the non-English list, Season Four of Spanish Money Heist, only comes in at a little less than half of Squid Games hours count.

Based on the bestselling novel by Matthew Quirk, The Night Agent tells the story of a disgraced FBI agent demoted to a glorified phone operator who gets the chance to redeem himself when he takes a distress call from a young woman chased by the killers of her spy aunt and uncle. The show has already been renewed for a second season.
