Diablo 4 just had a pair of betas that seemed to impress most players, indicating that yes, maybe this game is going to be as good as it looks. But the caveat has always been “are they going to get the endgame right?” and that’s been a pretty big unknown. Now, while there will be no “endgame beta,” there is a new video detailing a bunch of different aspects of the endgame, which will indeed be more than 5,000 Baal/Andariel runs (though I think Andariel shows up in this video?) or infinite Greater Rifts.
Players will have to beat a “capstone” dungeon in order to move up world tier difficulties, which sounds a bit Lost Ark-ish. There is a new Paragon system after the skill point level cap that is more advanced than just the flat stat boosts of Diablo 3’s. The different nodes were not fully shown off, but it indicates different paths you can go down to flesh out your build more. Some nodes are just stats, but as you go, you’ll unlock more and more stuff in this system.
That’s all we’ve got for now, and I am curious that say, boss runs were not mentioned at all, given what a staple that’s been of past games, and I’m wondering how that process will work, and if it’s a meaningful gear farm. I don’t quite get why this video has an equal like to dislike ratio on YouTube, as there still seems to be a good amount of Diablo haters out there, but everything I saw here looked solid to me. I guess we’ll see in two months.
