Cobra Kai's Tory Actor Reveals What She Expects From The Final Season

Cobra Kai's Peyton List, who plays Tory, shares her hopes for the show's final season. Though it's still months away from debuting, with filming yet to begin, Cobra Kai season 6 will represent fairly new ground for the Emmy-nominated dojo drama. Unlike other installments of the hit Netflix show, for the most part, there aren't any major feuds to address. At least in terms of its large main ensemble, most of the characters have become relatively close or have at least learned to co-exist.

In an interview with Collider to promote her Paramount+ series School Spirits, List talks about her hopes for Cobra Kai season 6. The actor notes that she hasn't heard anything about the new episodes but is confident she'll be happy with Tory's story.  After the Cobra Kai season 5 ending, List addressed whether Tory could actually be close with Samantha (Mary Mouser). List mentioned that, at first, she agreed with Mouser that the two will never be friends. However, she now takes a more nuanced view of their interactions and the fact that they feud as a way of remaining in each other's lives. Cobra Kai season 5 addresses this, leaving the two in a place where they are able to co-exist. However, they aren't the best of pals just yet.

Even though other former rivals seem especially at ease with one another, even sharing a laugh or a meal, Cobra Kai doesn't let Sam and Tory quite get there. They're still on guard, without having any real conversation about their contentious history. In contrast to Miguel (Xolo Maridueña) and Robby (Tanner Buchanan), who become quick buddies, Tory and Sam just briefly work together. That means old grudges can bubble up to the surface under the right circumstances. Outside of Tory and Sam's future, Tory's relationship with Robby was left in a similarly peaceful but not perfect spot in season 5.

Tory will also have to respond to the fact that Kreese (Martin Kove), her occasional father figure, has escaped from prison. It remains very much an open question whether he'll encourage Tory to indulge in bad impulses, potentially undoing the progress she's made. Hopefully, that question will be answered in Cobra Kai's final season.
