Will Ressler survive to The Blacklist series finale?

As The Blacklist counts down to both its 200th episode and the series finale, fans have a lot of questions to ask. One of the biggest is the eventual fate of FBI Special Agent Donald Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff).

The Blacklist has never been shy about getting rid of some big characters over the years. That includes original star Megan Boone as Elizabeth Keen. When the show began, Ressler was a dedicated agent who’d spent years hunting Red Reddington (James Spader) and was not happy over having to work with him. Ressler was put through the wringer over the show’s run. He was shot a few times, and fell for Elizabeth, only to have her die on him, which sent him into a deep depression and a brief addiction to painkillers.

As the show races to its conclusion, fans are wondering if Ressler can see some light at the end of the tunnel and maybe bright times ahead.

What’s coming for Ressler on The Blacklist?

Speaking to TVLine, showrunner John Eisendrath was asked a fan question on Ressler and what’s to come in the show’s final year. After laughing off Ressler’s poor track record of love interests, he did share a hint Ressler will at least make it to the series finale. What I would say about Ressler is he was on Red’s tail eight years before the pilot started, and he will be the last man standing when it comes time to determine Red’s fate at the end of this season.”

Obviously, the producers are holding back just how the show ends, but fans should be happy that Ressler will be there to end the journey he began and see The Blacklist to its conclusion.
