Johnny Depp has been grabbing more headlines for his lawsuit with ex-wife Amber Heard rather than his movie roles. But his fans want to see him rule the silver screens again. In fact, they want him to return as a specific character- Jack Sparrow in another film from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. To ensure that Disney takes note of their interest, some fans started a petition. However, the ambitious project has failed to garner the attention the makers were looking for. Johnny Depp Fans Start A Petition For The Actor
Till now, Johnny Depp has portrayed Captain Jack Sparrow in a total of 5 Pirates of the Caribbean films for more than a decade. Reportedly Disney is busy developing two projects set in the franchise, but none of them feature the iconic actor. Depp fans are not having that. So they started a petition to get Disney’s attention and reinstate the actor back into the role he is globally known for. Here’s what the petition reads:
“Johnny Depp has been out recently as Captain Jack Sparrow. We don’t really know the real reason though. He has been playing this role since 2003 when we first saw him arriving at the Port Royal in his boat with that epic background music playing. But can you imagine no Jack Sparrow at all? No epic entry scores, no humorous dialogues and the guy with the most good and bad luck at the same time?”
The petition then makes an appeal to potential signers, saying that without Depp or his Sparrow, the franchise will sink. However, the makers are willing to make one exception.
