The town of Riverdale is preparing for the end! Unfortunately, it's official: Riverdale will end with Season 7! Even if the shock for fans is great, it was foreseeable that the Netflix hit would soon come to an end. Recently, things have gotten crazier on the show. Nevertheless, Riverdale has quickly become one of the most iconic series that will shape pop culture for a long time to come.
Riverdale Season 7: When will the new episodes start?
The new episodes of "Riverdale" are usually released at the beginning of the year. In January and February 2023 it wasn't that far, which surprised many fans. Netflix is now bringing light into the darkness:
A new Instagram post announces that Season 7 will start in Germany on Thursday, March 30, 2023 . If it works according to the same principle as the previous seasons, the streaming service will publish a new episode of "Riverdale" every week . So there is a new episode to stream every Thursday. Veronica actress Camila Mendes already revealed the US start date a few weeks ago. The final season can be seen there a day earlier, i.e. from March 29th.
"Riverdale" Season 7: This is known about the plot
Instead of offering a fitting end to "Riverdale" in the here and now, the makers have decided to take the teen series back in time. In the final seventh season, the 1950s are both the linchpin and the new beginning, as creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa revealed in an interview: "This is how we can tell the stories of the first time - the first kiss, the first crush, the first heartbreak . When we meet them, they are not yet in the deep, tormented relationships we know and love about them."
Conversely, this means for the fans: The hit series starts from scratch in the last season, in which the story is completely different and the actors will also be connected to each other in completely new constellations. It remains exciting!
Riverdale" season 7: Lili Reinhart shows the first pictures from the shooting
Filming for the new season of "Riverdale" has been underway since autumn 2022. Actress Lili Reinhart (Betty) also gives her Instagram followers a little taste and shares the first set pictures with her colleagues KJ Apa (Archie) and Madeleine Petsch (Cheryl).
The series stars show up in a chic 50s look and thus finally confirm that the new season is set in the 1950s. In the town of Riverdale, time is being turned back, as revealed by the end of season 6. Archie, Veronica, Betty and Jughead are teenagers again and going to school in their 50's.
The "Riverdale" actors have already reported back via Instagram Story and given a little insight behind the scenes. You can see a lot of coffee (apparently Lili Reinhart and Co. have to get used to the early days of shooting again) as well as a lot of fun between the actors. "Nothing has changed ," writes Veronica actress Camila Mendes (Veronica) in her Instagram story while joking around with KJ Apa on set.
